What we collect

CareerRove collects only what it needs to match you to job postings:

• Your email address, used to sign you in and send your weekly matches.
• Your questionnaire answers: the roles and fields you want, preferred locations and work arrangement, your school, graduation year, major, prior experience, selected skills, and anything you type in the free-text background box.
• Your subscription status and Stripe customer identifier, so we know whether your account is active.
• Which listings we have already sent you, so you are not sent the same role twice.

We do not collect your resume, your card number, or your browsing activity on other sites. We do not use advertising trackers.

How your answers are used

Your questionnaire answers are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API, which compares them against job postings to produce a fit score, a letter grade, and the one-line explanation you see next to each match. This is the core function of the service and cannot be switched off while your account is active.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with recruiters, employers, or schools. Applying to a job is always something you do yourself on the employer’s own site — we never submit an application for you, and employers do not receive your details from us.

Who else processes your data

We rely on these services, and only these:

• Supabase — Database and authentication. Stores your account and questionnaire answers.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — Reads job postings to categorise them, and compares your questionnaire answers against postings to rank and explain matches.
• Resend — Delivers your weekly match email.
• Stripe — Processes subscription payments. Stripe handles card details directly -- CareerRove never receives or stores your card number.
• Vercel — Hosts the website and serves it to your browser.

Email

Every match email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the emails while leaving your account intact, so you can still sign in and view matches on the site.

Your choices

You can change your questionnaire answers at any time from the onboarding page, and they take effect from your next weekly run. To request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and everything attached to it, email support.careerrove@gmail.com. Deletion removes your profile, questionnaire, and match history; it cannot be undone.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. Contact us at the address above to exercise them.

Children

CareerRove is intended for university students and is not directed at anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
